Mr. Jeremiah was raised in Endwell, NY and has lived in Hillsborough since 2000. He utilizes his experience as a project development engineer for the North Carolina Department of Transportation in his practice of construction law. Mr. Jeremiah represents owners, general contractors, and subcontractors in both construction litigation and contract drafting/negotiation.
EDUCATION
Mr. Jeremiah received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University cum laude and in honors in 1999. In 2006, he received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While in law school, Mr. Jeremiah was a member of the Holderness Moot Court.
EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE
Prior to law school Mr. Jeremiah worked as a Project Development Engineer with the North Carolina Department of Transportation in Raleigh. He held that position from 2000 to 2003. Mr. Jeremiah was responsible for managing and planning twelve highway improvement projects ranging in cost from $750K - $175MM. He drafted environmental impact statements for six projects in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Mr. Jeremiah led an inter-disciplinary team within NCDOT and led negotiations within an inter-agency team comprised of various state and federal agencies for each project. In 2003, Mr. Jeremiah obtained his professional engineering licensure in North Carolina.
COURT ADMISSIONS
Mr. Jeremiah was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 2006. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES AND AFFILIATIONS
Mr. Jeremiah is a member of the American Bar Association and the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry. He is a member of the Construction Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. He is also a member of the Greensboro Bar Association. Mr. Jeremiah is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Professional Engineers of North Carolina, and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
