Jay Wilkerson is a native of North Carolina, raised and currently residing in Raleigh. He has been in private practice continuously since 1992. He has a wide experience with the legal issues surrounding both private and public construction projects. The majority of Mr. Wilkerson's practice involves construction litigation, arbitration and mediation. He also has a specialty practice in defending contractors against citations issued by the North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). | ||||||

EDUCATION Mr. Wilkerson received his B.S., with distinction, in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1989. In 1992 he received his J.D., with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. | ||||||

EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE After law school, Mr. Wilkerson worked for the Durham law firm of John E. Bugg, P.A. and in 1997 became a partner in the firm of Bugg, Wolf and Wilkerson. He stayed at that law firm until he left to become a member of Conner Gwyn Schenck in 2002. | ||||||

COURT ADMISSIONS Mr. Wilkerson has been admitted to the North Carolina State Bar continuously since 1992. He is admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina. | ||||||
| PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES AND AFFILIATIONS
He is a member of the American Bar Association and the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry. He is also a member of the Construction Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, where he has served on the Section Council. | ||||||
